This Thursday, the 20th of August Timor-Leste commemorates 40 years of FALINTIL, the armed force that fought 24 years to see the end of Indonesian occupation and the restoration of independence between 1975 and 1999. Visiting veterans to Australia have said that that Timor-Leste has not achieved its full sovereignty until the maritime border is finally and properly settled. For them this is important unfinished business.
